Hi everyone, today I want to introduce a pair of artists.
What can be said about them? First of all, we have two brothers. Michael Gettens, 21, and Christopher Gettens, 24. They are co-writers and co-directors of a joint project, “Valleys.” It is a short film that combines wonderful scenery with reoccurring family issues. Partnering with up and coming production company, Creative Doorway, they are bound to bring about some interesting stuff.
Without further ado, let’s spend a moment with “The Getten Brothers.” I hope this exclusive interview will help us better understand and get to know the process behind the project, “Valleys.”
VisionCreativity: What are your names? Do you have artist names?
Michael Gettens: Most of my friends know me as Mike, I hated being called Michael growing up, but it is the name given to me by the Creator, with the help of my parents. So now I embrace it. I have a couple artist names, Currently seeing if/which one sticks haha. They are “Megahertz” and “Casey P.T. Angelo.”
Christopher Gettens: Growing up a lot of people called me ‘Gettens.’ Mostly the case of playing hockey and the only name you would see on the jersey was my last. A name is so weird though, think about it. We carry it around our whole life, kinda identifying ourselves as something, someone. It would be cool to change my name to “Man Who Walks Under Sun.” But as for artist names, Christmas Glasses has always stuck with me and SiGmund floyd is the name I produce under.
VC: What is the motivation behind your creative process?
MG: What motivates me the most is the feeling you get when you bring something into form that was once before just a thought. Or maybe it didn’t even have time to become a thought, Pure energy. There’s something about having no rules in art, being able to express whatever emotion you’re going through, in whatever way works for you best in the moment.
CG: I agree with Mike here in the intriguing feeling it brings to manifest
Out of thin air. The creative process is what we intrinsically do anyway, ALL the time EVERYDAY! You make a sandwich, you created a sandwich, so capturing the moment is the way I like to create. How I feel, what I see, what it smells like, what it makes me think, you know really diving into that place of as the observer of this universe.
VC: Have you made any other films?
MG: This is our first.
VC: Why did you choose the title, “Valleys” for your film?
MG: It’s definitely inspired by the place we currently reside, the Phoenix, Arizona area.
CG: I remember we were in the studio, and Mike had shot out the idea of calling it Valleys, and that was that. Perfect title for the concept of the project and what it represents.
VC: Would it be considered a short film or a feature film?
MG: Short.
VC: What inspired the writing of this story? What is the movie about? Does it target the public?
MG: I wouldn’t say it’s based on true events, but it was heavily inspired by the experiences we’ve had over the past few years. I think the audience that will resonate with this film is anyone who has witnessed the paradox we live in of extreme opposites, while still feeling there is something that connects us all.
CG: This film isloosely based on the universe we live in. We’ve been so curious of the dynamics of life and how the archetypal figures play out so commonly. ‘Valleys’ is a Music Video/Short Film playing out a modern rendition of the Hero’s Quest. Its temptation, its highs and lows; Its peaks and ‘Valleys.’
Anyone who is out there looking in the stars for signs and in your heart for answers you will surely gravitate towards this project.
VC: Following the trailer, we realize the same actor appears in several roles. Is there a particular reason behind this?
MG: Watch and see. =)
VC: I think we have enough! We will discover the rest when the film is made public. Which is intended to be when?
CG: Spring 2015

Salut tout le monde, aujourd’hui, je vous présente 2 artistes.
Que peut t’on dire a propos d’eux? Tous d’abord nous avons deux frères. Micheal Getten, 21 ans et Christopher Getten, 24 ans. Ce sont les coauteurs et les codirecteurs d’un projet commun dont l’intulé est “Valleys”. Ce court métrage combine à merveille un décor splendide aux problèmes familiaux récurrents . Projet réaliser en partenariat avec une structure production en cours d’émergence intitulé, Creative Doorway ,ils se sont associer pour apporter quelques idées intéressantes.

Visioncreativity: Quelles sont vos noms? Avez vous des noms d’artistes?
Micheal Gettens: La plus part de mes amis me connaissent sous le prénom de Mike, je détestais être appeler Micheal en grandissant , mais c’est le nom que le créateur m’a donner, en connivence avec mes parents. Donc maintenant je le porte fièrement. J’ai plusieurs noms artistes.Actuellement, je suis entrain de voir lequel me colle le plus haha. Ce sont “Megahert” et “Casey P.T. Angelo”.
Christopher Gettens: En grandissant plusieurs personne m’appelai “Gettens”. Surtout a cause de l’Hokey auquel je joue et c’est mon nom de famille que l’ont voit derrière mon maillot. Un nom est cependant si bizarre, Réfléchis- y? Nous lavons porter tout au long de notre entière existence, en quelque sorte, nous identifiant comme quelque chose,quelqu’un. J’aimerai bien changer mon prénom en “L’HOMME QUI MARCHE SOUS LE SOLEIL”. Mais comme noms d ‘artiste , « Les lunettes de noël » m’a toujours bien identifier, et le nom sous lequel je produis c’est Sigmund Floyd.
VC: Quelle est la motivation derrière votre processus créatif?
MG: Ce qui me motive le plus c’est que vous ressentez lorsque vous donner forme à quelque chose qui n’était avant, rien qu’une pensée, ou peut être même bien que cela na pas eu le temps de devenir une pensée, de l’Énergie Pure. Il y a quelque chose a propos du fait de ne pas avoir de règle dans l’art , cela permet être capable d’exprimer n’importe quelle émotion que vous ressentez , dans tout ce qui, marche le plus pour vous en ce moment.
CG: Je suis d’accord avec Mike par rapport au sentiment intrigant,ca amène a manifester hors de cet espace. Le processus créatif c’est ce qui nous est propre et que nous fessons de n’importe quelle manière, TOUS Le temps, TOUS LES JOURS! Nous fessons des sandwich, nous créons un Sandwich, donc en gros capter le moment est la manière dont nous créons. comment je le sens,ce que je vois,ce a quoi ca ressemble,ce a quoi cela me fait penser.Ce qui signifie que nous sommes réellement plonger dans cet espace comme observateur de univers.
VC: Avez vous déjà réaliser autre film?
MG: C’est notre premier.
VC: Pourquoi avez vous choisi le titre “Valleys” pour votre film?
MG: C’est définitivement inspirer de la ou nous résidons, la ville de Phoenix, de la région d’Arizona.
CG: Je me souviens, nous étions au studio et Mike a eut la brillante idée de l’appeler ‘’Valleys’’ et c’était cela. Le titre parfait qui cadrais bien avec le cncept du projet et ce qu’il représente.
VC: Serais t-il considériez comme un court métrage ou un long métrage?
MG: Un court métrage.
VC: Qu’est ce qui a inspirer l’écriture de cette histoire? De quoi parle le film? Quelle est le public cible ?
MG: Je ne dirais pas que c’est baser sur des faits réelsmais, c’est fortement inspirer de nos expériences vécues ces derniers années. Je pense que le public sur lequel on fera effet avec ce film est, toutes personnes ayant été témoin du paradoxe dans lequel nous vivons, dans une opposition extrême,tandis que j’ai toujours eut le sentiment qu’il y a quelque chose qui nous unit tous.
CG: Ce film est vaguement baser sur l’univers dans lequel nous vivons. Nous avions vraiment été curieux des dynamiques de la vie et comment les figures archétypes se développent communément. “Valleys” est un court métrage et une vidéo musical, qui montre une moderne interprétation de la quête du héros,ses tentations, ses hauts, ses bas,ses apogées et vallées. Toutes personnes,la au dehors entrain de contempler les étoiles à la recherche de signe et dans son cœur pour avoir les réponses, va sûrement être attirer par ce projet
VC: En suivant la bande annonce nous constatons que les même acteurs apparaissent dans plusieurs rôles .Existe t-il une raison particulière derrière cela?
MG: Suivez et vous comprenez.
VC: Je pense que nous avons assez, nous découvrirons le reste quand le film sera rendu publique. Ce serra a attendre pour quand?
CG: Printemps 2015
